Potsdam names this panel not for the Virgin but for a basket: Die heilige Familie mit dem Korb, the wickerwork in the lower right corner.
The figures the museum traces elsewhere — their arrangement to the Holy Family beneath the Oak of Raphael and Giulio Romano, the Christ Child's pose to Raphael's Bridgewater Madonna. Luke allows Nazareth a line, that the child was subject to them; Rubens furnished the silence out of Italy. The basket it traces to no one.
No patron is recorded, and no owner. The first year the record can place it anywhere is 1764.
